Pink Acquires Historic Greenwich Village Townhouse for $21.5 Million

Renowned singer Pink, whose birth name is Alecia Beth Moore, has made a notable acquisition in New York City's Greenwich Village. The Grammy-winning artist, previously based in California's Santa Ynez Valley where she cultivated her Two Wolves wine label, has purchased a historic Greek Revival townhouse for an impressive $21.5 million. This 181-year-old residence, long celebrated as a sanctuary for artists, signifies her new base on the East Coast.

The property, which spans six levels and offers approximately 7,800 square feet, boasts five bedrooms and six bathrooms, accessible by a private elevator. Originally listed at $25 million in 2024, the townhouse saw its first change of ownership in nearly seven decades. Notable past residents include sculptor Daniel Chester French and dancer Valerie Bettis. The Fonseca family, including Uruguayan sculptor Gonzalo Fonseca and painter Elizabeth Kaplan Fonseca, owned the home since 1957. The residence features a striking garden-floor studio with three large skylights, a floating staircase, and French doors leading to a private patio. Additional luxurious amenities include a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a sophisticated dining area, and a gourmet kitchen equipped with custom wood cabinetry, marble countertops, and high-end Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances. The master suite, located on the fourth floor, offers a sitting room, a dressing area, and an elegant tiled bath with a soaking tub. The top floor is appointed with a wet bar and a lush, hedge-lined terrace providing scenic city views.

Pink's relocation to New York was motivated by her 14-year-old daughter, Willow, who seeks to immerse herself in the city's vibrant theater scene and Broadway. Coinciding with this move, Pink is set to host the 79th Annual Tony Awards, which will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on June 7. Expressing her enthusiasm for this new role, Pink shared her profound respect for Broadway's supportive, inclusive community and its talented individuals, eager to celebrate their magic with a global audience.

This significant life and career transition for Pink underscores the dynamic interplay between personal aspirations and professional commitments. Her decision to invest in a historic New York property not only reflects a new family chapter but also positions her at the heart of the performing arts community, allowing her to further contribute to and celebrate an industry she deeply admires. It exemplifies how individuals can align their personal values and family needs with grand professional endeavors, enriching both their lives and the broader cultural landscape.
